Baby Room 1
Age - 3 months-1 year (approximately)
Ratio - 1:3
Staffing - The baby room has 4 nursery nurses who hold a range of qualifications including NVQ levels 2 & 3 in early years care and education, first aid, safeguarding children, health and safety and baby sign.
Our youngest babies are cared for in a cosy, relaxing, calm and homely environment that is responsive to the individual needs and routines of each baby. In addition to the play area the baby room is equipped with a separate sleeping area where each child is allocated their own cot and bedding, dining area, messy area and nappy changing facilities. The babies enjoy a wide range of activities and experiences that are all carefully planned according to their developmental needs and underpinned by the Early Years Foundation stage.
Each baby is allocated a Key Person who gains a deeper understanding of their individual needs and ensures that each baby for whom they have special responsibility feels individual, cherished, safe, secure and settled during their day at nursery.
We work in partnership with parents to determine when babies are ready to transition up to Baby room 2 and this will largely depend on the change in their developmental needs.

Baby Room 2
Age - 1-2 years (approximately)
Ratio - 1:3
Staffing - Baby room 2 has 14 nursery nurses who hold a range of qualifications including NVQ levels 2 & 3 in early years care and education, first aid, safeguarding children, health and safety, food handling and outdoor play.
Baby Room 2 is on the first floor and consists of a milk preparation kitchen, a nappy changing area, dining room, sleep room and 4 spacious play areas which includes a sensory room. With adult support and carefully planned activities the babies are able to move freely between the rooms during the day and a rolling snack bar is in place to encourage independence and healthy choices.
A Key Person approach is in place and we believe that it is important that each child feels safe and secure and for this reason each baby’s Key Person is not allocated straight away. We feel that some babies feel more confident with a particular person so we allow them time to see who they become attached to.

Toddlers
Age - 2-3 years (approximately)
Ratio - 1:4
The toddler room has 12 nursery nurses who hold a range of qualifications including NNEB, NVQ Level 2/3, Makaton, Outdoor play, first aid, Health and Safety and Safeguarding.
The toddler room is located on the ground floor and consists of four spacious play areas and a garden. With adult support and carefully planned activities the toddlers along with the pre-school children are able to move freely between the rooms and the outdoor space. There is a rolling snack bar in place which encourages independence and healthy choices.
Children need to have a sense of belonging, a feeling of being welcome and of being important and therefore like all our other rooms a successful Key Person approach is in place.

Pre-school
Age - 3-5 years (approximately)
Ratio - 1:8
Staffing - The Pre-School room has 3 members of staff which includes one qualified teacher and two nursery nurses.
Children in the pre-school room enjoy a wide range of rich learning opportunities that extend and develop their knowledge and understanding in all areas of learning. Our child centred approach enables us to build on children's existing skills and knowledge in an environment where their achievements are highly valued. We work in partnership with parents to provide children with first hand experiences in a stimulating, happy and secure environment; creating an atmosphere in which both children and parents feel welcome and at ease.
The Nursery provides a range of extra activities for the pre-school children and these include to enhance children's experiences and these include Music and Movement/Drama , French classes and Yogabugs.
