Nursery opening hours
The Nursery is open between 7am and 7pm and is open 51 weeks of the year and the only time we close is during the period between Christmas and New Year and public bank holidays.
Viewing the nursery
The Nursery has an open door policy so you are welcome to visit at anytime. We do suggest that you don't come between 12pm and 2pm as many of the children are sleeping, the lights are low and you won't see the nursery fully operational.
The Ofsted recommended ratio in the baby rooms (under 2's) is 1:3, the toddler room 1:4 and the Pre-school room is 1:8. However, at the nursery we operate with a higher ratio of adults to children which enables us to maintain our reputation of providing high quality early years provision.
Our staff hold various childcare qualifications such as NNEB, NVQ childcare and education level 2 or 3, B Tech in Nursery Nursing, First Aid, Child protection, Equal Opportunities, Additional Educational Needs, Management training, Early Years degrees and Early Years Professional Status.
Settling your baby or child into the nursery
We have a weeks settling in period but we are very flexible and some parents may like to settle their child over a longer period. This settling in week is to ensure your child is fully relaxed and happy in their new environment, and happy and relaxed with their new carers. The settling in week is charged at a 50% rate e.g. if your child is attending 5 days a week you will be charged for 2.5 days.
Nursery Education Funding
Yes children are eligible for the 15 hours of Nursery Education funding the school term after their 3rd birthday. Please speak to one of the management team for further information.
Childcare vouchers are exempt from national insurance and tax up to the value of £55 per week, so it is possible for you to save up to £1,195 per annum; or up to £2,390 if both parents belong to a scheme. The vouchers are provided through your employer and benefit them too because the NI exemption applies to both Employee's and Employer's NI payments. We are currently registered with most recognised voucher schemes, although we are happy to register with, and accept vouchers from new schemes also.
